Burgundy and cream horizontal striped, three piece day suit of jacket, blouse and skirt. The blouse is red with a high neckline and attached ribbon ties that create a bow at the throat. The jacket has a notched collar, is unfitted and has two pocket flaps on either hip. It has a centre front closure with 5 buttons and is fully lined. The straight skirt is of the same horizontally striped fabric as the jacket and has a 7 inch zipper in the centre back. There are 2 darts in the front and 2 in the back and 4 seams. There is a 10 inch kick pleat opening on the front left side. The garment belonged to Mrs. Helen Downie and was brought to the Fashion Resource Centre by Mr. Jonathan Walford.
